Weekend Wrap Up!

Awesome. Weekend.

Weekends like this make being a photographer feel not like a job, and more like playing around with a camera in my hand.

And Then She Was 1…

When I was younger time passed slowly. I complained that a school year took SO LONG to go by. My dad would smile at me and go about his business. One of my clearest memories is him saying, "You know Marti, I do the same thing every day but each day for you is something new. You're just starting your life" On his 60th birthday he said, "I hope the next 20 years don't go by as fast as the last 20 years did." I didn't understand his sentiments until I had the girls and now I hope this next year doesn't go by as fast as last year. Despite my best efforts to slow time down, it keeps ticking and babies have birthdays.

I have REALLY awesome friends. They are a lot cooler than I am. Eliza is the baby girl of one of my best friends. I love watching Eliza get bigger. The birthdays keep coming and the babies keep getting bigger while I don't think us parents feel much different. We love them the best we can while we watch them grow, we give them super-cute big hair bows to wear for their parties and we console each other about the passage of time. Because, as hard as it is, these are sweet, sweet times we have right now.

Happy Birthday sweet Baby Eliza, we are all so in love with you!

Gavin!

Happy almost 4th of July! It's heating up in Atlanta and feeling like summer. The girls and I are spending many evenings at the pool, enjoying the laid back rhythm of summer. Ellie goes back to school one month from today, so we are actually on the downhill of our summer break. I am closing up shop for the weekend, going to enjoy a bit of laid-back holiday celebrations (complete with homemade ice cream).

Baby Gavin, Sweet Gavin…not such a baby anymore! He's getting so big, with a sweet happy smile. I always love hanging out with him and his parents. They are so fun and cool, always great to see them!

This is what you get…

When one of your most beautiful friends has three baby girls. Wow.

Sweet Baby Olivia: Sneak Peek!

One word. Lips. She has the most perfect baby lips, I'm in love!

A Weekend Sneak Peak!

Piedmont Park. 6:30pm on a Saturday. Awesome!!

Mr. Collin!

Oh, Collin. The depth and breadth of faces you show me is impressive! Your 7-month old expressions are sweet and silly and make me melt. I cannot wait to see you again! xoxo

Sweet Baby Boy!

Sweet Baby Kellen! Oh. My. Goodness! He was an amazing little guy during our shoot. Kellen was so tolerant of us, and he LOVED the space heater. As long as we had the heater close we could move him and squish him up. Ashley and Jerry, what an amazing little guy you have! Thank you so much for letting me photograph this exciting time in your life! xoxo

Baby Maddie Turns 1!!

I met Maddie when she was 3 months old. She was beyond adorable then, and has only gotten more adorable as the months pass. She has officially graduated from the "First Year Club," and I am so sad I won't get to see her and her cool parents every three months anymore. Kelley and Brian are equally adorable (am I allowed to call parents adorable? Because, seriously, they are). But, I am happy to say in the past year I have had the opportunity to not only photograph their family but to also become their friend. And, next year, it's all about the Disney Princess Half Marathon, right Kelley?!? xoxo

More Avery Cuteness!

I am so in love with Avery. I am lucky enough to get to see her every three months and she just keeps getting more awesome! She is so smiley and adorable when she sits up. I spent the morning with Avery and her parents. Heather and I decided to spend the morning photographing, "A Day in the Life of Miss Avery." It was so fun to break from my normal shoot routine and get to capture the small, intimate details of daily life. Waking up from a nap, eating lunch, taking a bath and playing. All the little things that make up life, but most of us don't take time to capture.
