I have probably said it before, but photographing babies at 3 months old is one of my favorite things to do. They are chubby and smiley but still unaware of the camera (and me) enough to fall for my peek-a-boo tricks and not be scared by me. Maddie was so exception. She was so amazing, the perfect little photography subject! Mom and Dad weren't too bad either! See you guys soon! XOXO
On-The-Go Books!
I received an order of these little On-The-Go Books today and they are awesome! They are small little picture folio's that are perfect to throw in your bag or pocket. They are awesome for Grandparents or to carry around the office and whip out when someone asks to see pictures of your kids, wedding, etc. The are held together with a magnetic closure so you don't have to worry about them flopping open and getting scratched up. I LOVE them!
Here is the front cover. You can order them with a solid color front and back cover or with a custom picture. I am totally digging the picture on this little folio.
Here is one folio side

I hope you love these little books as much as I do. They are the perfect addition to any photo session!

4 Days of Perfection!
Here's the thing, I love babies. LOVE. THEM. And a baby that is four days old…is kind of like heaven to me. Baby Kiersten is perfect in so many ways, I won't get started because then I won't stop. But, as you can see she is beyond beautiful! Kiersten was very tolerant of me moving her and cuddling her (and rocking her, of course)! What a sweet little girl, I can't wait to see her again! XOXO
Melissa and Colby:: {Baby on the Way}
Us photographers…we're not hard to make happy. Give me a well dressed pregnant lady, some nice light and I am one happy girl! That is exactly what I got when I spent an afternoon with Mel and Colby. Melissa had some awesome outfits and shoes and let ransack her closet (I was gentle). Colby was the perfect hubby, doing whatever we needed…like getting me a huge ladder, holding reflectors…wait, he was the perfect assistant, as well. Mel and Colby are such a sweet couple, totally in love and super excited about their family addition. I cannot wait to meet the new baby, see you guys soon!
New Babies and Old Friends
There are some friends who stay with you. Despite time and distance (think continents) they are always a cherished friend. In college Leann and I lived almost next door to each other for a couple of years. I was in nursing school and she was in medical school and we would veg out at the end of the day, often talking about how tired we were (ha! obviously we didn't know about motherhood tiredness??). I would ask her a barrage of questions because she was (and still is), hands down, one of the smartest people I have ever known. I have so many great memories from those days, caulking the aunts out of her apartment is by far the funniest! Leann was the first person to know I was engaged and said she could tell by the way I knocked on her door.
After graduation I moved to Atlanta and she to Memphis. We talked sporadically, sent Christmas cards, had babies (me), got married (her). After Leann and her husband finished residency they moved to Kijabe, Kenya for two years to do medical mission work. I read her blog and missed her every day. There is something about having one of my best friends on the same continent that is reassuring.
On August 6th, 2009 I received a Facebook message from Leann telling me that she was pregnant. I was over the moon for she and Garry. I knew that she would make the most amazing Mama. In November they returned from Kenya and in March welcomed baby Lena into the world.
Over spring break I headed down to south Missouri to (finally) see Leann, meet Garry, meet Baby Lena and hang out with Alanna and TJ, two other super special college friends. The comfort gained from seeing old friends, talking and eating pizza is one of life's most precious gifts. Of course, Lena got her very own little photo shoot. She is precious beyond words. Love to you all! *hugs*
Announcement & Sweet Rhea is 1!
Spring is here and threatening to turn to summer. It's crazy how fast time goes by! These last two months have been amazing for me. I have had many unexpected new opportunities come my way, it's hard not to feel like the luckiest girl around! In that vein, I am very pleased to announce that I am teaming up with the website Moms Are Human to offer a free PictureMommy Photography session! We are still hammering out the details, but one lucky follower of Moms Are Human and PictureMommy Photography will receive a complimentary photo session (and, I might just have to throw in a little something for those who don't win as well)! We hope to start the contest next week, so stay tuned for additional details!
It's not often that I get to photograph a kiddo on their birthday. But, Rhea was willing to share a few minutes of her special day with me! Once she got used to the big 'ole camera following her around she let me see how she likes to be chased and play catch with her ball. She is a sweet little Mama's girl, not letting Kavita much out of her sight (I can't blame her, mama's are pretty darn cool). Rhea, I hope you had an awesome first birthday and I wish you a lifetime of fantastic birthdays ahead!
Danielle and Craig got Married!
Last Friday Robin and I drove up north to the Brasstown Valley Resort for the beautiful wedding of Danielle and Craig. It was a sweet, intimate wedding. Most of the guests traveled quite a distance to celebrate, and all were beyond happy to be there. The ceremony overlooked the mountains and the reception was in the most beautiful pavilion overlooking the golf course and had a spectacular sunset view. As always, I shed a few tears while Danielle and her father shared a dance but enjoyed watching the guests party well into the night. Danielle and Craig, here's to a happy, happy life together! *Cheers*
